How to Remove Total Security From Your PC

Total Security is another piece of software which installs itself on your computer and causes havoc. This scam has been floating around the Internet for years and thousands of people are having to live with it on their systems because they are unable to uninstall it. Fortunately, there’s a simple method you can use to remove this virus from your PC.

Like many other “scam” products, Total Security is a virus which doesn’t include an uninstall feature. This means that whenever you try and remove it, you hit a brick wall with nothing there to help you remove it. This is a big problem, but one you can fix if you just mimic what an uninstall facility would do, which is to remove the program files of the software, and then the registry keys which link it into Windows.

To uninstall Total Security, you first need to be able to remove all the program files which are making it work. These program files are the files which make the program what it is, allowing it to function. By removing these files, you will actually make the software unable to function at all. To do this, you just need to open My Computer and then browse to C:/Program Files/TSC, select that entire folder and press SHIFT + DELETE. This will remove that folder from your computer forever, taking the Total Security software with it.

The next step is to “cut” the program out of Windows, by removing its registry keys. These registry keys tell your computer everything from how to make the program work to where it’s installed, and removing them will basically make your PC “forget” that the program was ever installed. To remove these keys, you just need to browse to C:/Windows and then find a program called “Regedit.exe”. Open this up and then press CTRL+F to find all the Total Security registry keys. You then just need to be able to delete the keys and you’ll have removed this scam from your computer!
